Meet Fraggle Rock

aka Dr. Star and the Acoustic Mayhem
The Fraggles will always be playing an assortment of music and you just never know what they'll play next as they explore and play anything that sounds decent plucking a string.
Monthly Play Schedule:
2:00pm to 3:30pm EST on Laurelin on 1st Saturday of each month.
4:00pm to 5:30pm EST on Landroval on 2nd Saturday of each month.
6:00pm to 7:30pm EST on Crickhollow on 3rd Saturday of each month.
4th & 5th Saturday weekends will be make-up weekends if Fraggles happen to miss 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Saturday due to a real life issue.
Where Can You Find Us: Bree, outside Prancing Pony on the Bree Stage (or if Bree Stage is taken by someone else, we'll be playing somewhere near the Prancing Pony just out of ear shot range from the Bree stage.)
You are also catch us at our weekly jams(pending real life doesn't get in the way):
Weekly Play Schedule:
10:00pm to 12:00am(midnight) EST on Crickhollow, Friday, in Prancing Pony for Bread & Jam.
Requests for a certain song are welcome and encouraged if you want to hear the Fraggles play a favorite tune you love to hear them play. Most likely requests will be played during our encores if we can't fit them in during the regularly scheduled music show.
If you'd like Fraggle Rock to play for you, just message in-game to Starchild on Crickhollow or Starfraggle on Laurelin / Landroval.
What's the story behind your band's founding?
RP Story - "One day as Starchild was touring the new neighborhood she had recently moved into, she couldn't help but notice some music coming from a section of the neighborhood. Being a Minstrel herself, she knew it was good music and followed the strange, but yet magical sounds that put her mind to rest and feel at peace within her very soul. Upon finding the source of the music, she saw a group of Fraggles playing, creating sweet tunes that she'd never heard of from a magical and mysterious pipe. The Fraggles after several tunes looked up and saw Starchild and beckoned her to join them for a tune. Wanting to play a tune herself, she joined in and told of her many tales of travel and wonders of other places filled with dance, song, & stories. Then Starchild got this bright idea and invited them to join her to go and play at the festivities. Eager to play music for more than just the surrounding residents of their peaceful neighborhood, they took Starchild up on her offer."
NON-RP Story - "My real life schedule can be crazy at times and never could find a time to play in a LoTRO band, so I formed a band that could handle my weird schedules and not be burdened by my frequent absentees due to real life issues and when I can be online to play."
How did your band get its name?
Fraggles love to rock, so why not, "Fraggle Rock". For the other servers where Fraggle Rock is taken, I go by "Dr. Star and the Acoustic Mayhem", because when putting these acoustic instruments into the hands of the Fraggles, it becomes an acoustic mayhem. But we're known as "Fraggle Rock" on any server that we currently play on.
How did your members meet one another?
RP Meet - "Neighborhood jam session."
NON-RP Meet - "Formed from rolling new toons to create a kinship."
How would you describe your band's music?
Anything that can be played from an instrument with that "Fraggle" feel to it.
How do you decide which songs to play?
Depends on the event or festival. Sometimes we'll pick a theme or a select genre. Other times it's by audience requests or the hosts requests. Sometimes it's just what the Fraggles feel in the mood to play. If Fraggles can detect a "mood" or "theme" going on at event and can play it, they'll do so if possible.
Do you have a signature song?
It keeps changing, based on crowd favorites per server. We have a certain selection we do play more than others though. You'll know which ones they are, as they have more or less become our occasional encore tunes, depending on the event & the crowd that is present.
What's the highlight of your band's time together?
Performing to others, whether it be a crowd of 1 or 100+. Also one cool highlight, we got invited to and did play at a private wedding! As well as concert invitations we've received recently!
Do you have any embarrassing stories about a time when things didn't go so well?
Yes, I do have one.
RP Story - "When Gobo Fraggle became suddenly ill at a Bread & Jam event one Friday and had to leave. Still not sure what he ate, but it put him in bed for an entire week!"
NON-RP Story - "Laptop running Gobo suffered a hard crash, completely killing the hard drive during the middle of the event. Had to buy another hard drive and reinstall everything."
Does your band play a regular concert? If so, when and where?
Yes, at an event. Bread & Jam on Friday nights from 9pm EST until usually midnight EST over on Crickhollow server in Bree at the Prancing Pony, usually inside. Also on weekends when we aren't performing at a concert, we'll play for 1 to 2 hours in Bree somewhere on either Crickhollow, Landroval, or Laurelin(one server a weekend) on a Saturday or Sunday, but it's random, no set time. We'll usually announce in Regional or User Chatrooms when we suddenly show up and begin playing and we avoid announcing in World Chat.
Does your band have a website, Twitter feed or links to any performances?
Not yet, but I'm hoping to make occasional annoucements in my journal entries over on Deviantart where the band will be performing in future events. http:/tomfraggle.deviantart.com/
What's the one thing we should know about your band above all else?
Fraggles Rock has the desire and ability to please and play something that everyone will enjoy. Whether it’s a private party, an energetic event, or a festival concert, the band can easily adapt. We're still constantly learning new songs for the future, with over a thousand tunes already in our list to pick from. Since our first band appearance on January 30th, 2015, the Fraggles have played in 50+ events in the first 7 months and we're still counting! We're currently based on Crickhollow(our Home Server), as well as Landroval, & Laurelin.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about your group?
If you need a band to play at your event, public or private, feel free to drop Starchild(Crickhollow) or Starfraggle(Landroval / Laurelin) a message in-game(which I check on at least a weekly basis) or drop me a note on Deviantart(which I check on a daily basis). No promises we can fulfill all requests, but if my real-life schedule isn't an issue with the date/time, then the Fraggles will be happy to play for you. Possible future expansions to other servers isn't out of the question.
