(Almost) Everyone knows that Eddie Van Halen did the guitar solo for Michael Jackson's Beat It.


But did you know that Rick Derringer did the solo for Weird Al's Eat It?  Take another listen...it's pretty kick-@ss.

Cab Calloway made a dictionary of commonly used "Jive" in 1938, an introduction to the use of slang by Harlem musicians at the time.  Commonly thought to be the first dictionary written by an African American.

Fascinating!  And the corner stone in which the man finds Michigan J. Frog declares it was placed in 1892.  The Warner Brothers should have checked their facts before filming.  Hoho!

The song Hello! Ma Baby sung by Michigan J. Frog in the Warner Bros. cartoon One Froggy Evening in 1965 was actually written many decades earlier in 1899.  The lyrics refer to a man who has a girlfriend who he only knows via the Telephone.  In 1899!
