Now, a contest where you'll have to make your own midi and convert that to abc... That would make for another fine competition! There would not be many competitors, I think, but the music would be original!

This is correct, only ABCs have to be made by you, not the midi file. Midi files is what needed to make ABC though, but not required to make Midi file yourself.

It is my understanding that this is OK...The .abc file must be made by you, but you do not have to create the source for the .abc yourself.

I'm afraid I lack the musical talent to make my own ABC files. I use files made by other people or convert them from other people's MIDI files. Therefore I'm afraid I have to withdraw from the contest.

I did answer Via PMs but i'll do it here too so its  clear. All tunes and lyrics must be made by the player, meaning songs you made into ABC using whatever program there is for making ABC files

I take it "songs... must be made by you" means the arrangements for lotro (i.e. the .abc files) must be made by the contestant.

He usually plays drums and sings in our band, (2)  Imladris Sunset, on (3) Crickhollow and Landroval, but likes to sing and play his own songs too.
