Let's meet Weeds!

What's the story behind your band's founding?

We started playing Lotro a few months ago and when we discovered that it was possible to play music in the same way as RL we got amazed and immediately started to focus on it instead of the rest of the game's content.

How did your band get its name?

The Weeds guild comes from another MMO we were in for 4 years, there we had nothing to do with music but with casual gameplay, as founder I chose the name that has more to do with my philosophy and lifestyle. By coincidence, in Lotro "Weed" is part of the history, so this name fit perfectly.

How did your members meet one another?

The original members of Weeds met casually as PUG, we noticed that we shared the same interests and style of play, so it didn't take long for us to start helping newbies to learn the content. Unfortunately, those members are no longer with us, but Weeds remains firm and strong!

How would you describe your band's music?

Metal, alt and classic rock.

How do you decide which songs to play?

I had a rock band long time ago and I think is awesome to be able to play ingame the same songs that I used to play in that time, so most songs we play reflects who I am and who I was in my youth. Most artists we cover have important messages that we try to keep alive.

Do you have a signature song?

Well, my nickname comes from a Radiohead´s song called Paranoid Android, although I don't play it often because it's too much alt for most ears, and I like to think thats our signature song. The cowbell and Lonely Fiddle makes  the arrangement so cool that Im sure Thom would aproove...

What's the highlight of your band's time together?

So far I believe our best performance was at the Spring Festival in Arkenstone, a few months ago, there was a good crowd and we were inspired that day, it was the last time the original members played together, remembering that concert makes me nostalgic so let's change the subject before I start crying lol

Do you have any embarrassing stories about a time when things didn't go so well?

Probably my rookie mistakes at B&J lol

Does your band play a regular concert? If so, when and where?

Well, Weeds gigs casually at Bree Craft Hall 3-5 times a week, usually late night or early in the morning, random times and dates, so its not on calendar, we usually announce in WC just b4 it starts (its called "Crafting with Music"). Besides, folks can always find us in B&J, on Fridays... We also intend to perform in most rock and mixed theme festivals along the year...

Does your band have a website, Twitter feed or links to any performances?

What's the one thing we should know about your band above all else?

There is a meaning in the music we play and in the things we say, there has not yet been an opportunity to show something relevant, but good things are coming soon!

Is there anything else you'd like to mention?

Everyone is welcome to watch us and play on our beautiful GH stage at 5 Waterbank Road, Silithmar, Falathlorn Homesteads.

And we would like to thank Second Breakfast for providing us with so many wonderful events where we can express our feelings through music!
